Your papers are not in order...
There's been a crew here for over a week, putting up new wallpaper in the hallways. They didn't start putting up new paper until yesterday. Before that it's all been prep work. At some point they started using the empty office next to mine to store their stuff. As a result, my office gets shaken now and then when they put drywall mud or giant rolls of wallpaper or whatever in there. Sudden *whumps* that make the floor shake.
They're not taking down the old wallpaper. Instead they slathered drywall mud here and there on it and marked some areas with red crayon. Last night they painted over it with something, presumably so the new paper will stick to it. I can't wait til they're done. All the thumping, conversations in Spanish outside my door, and the myriad of fumes/odors from the various products is really getting old fast. Earlier today, they had a couple dozen 3 foot wide rolls of paper leaning against the wall by my office door, which promptly fell over like a bunch of dominos. Those things must be heavy, judging from the rumbling and shaking from it all.
Soon we'll have shiny new wallpapered hallways. Woohoo! Thing is, there was really nothing wrong with the old wallpaper. Go figure.
