One of the folks here is going on some travel shortly and since I've nothing on my agenda that's too urgent, I've been helping him get some stuff done before he leaves. One of these is getting some items ready to be shipped out. In the course of doing this, I rolled one of the items - a fairly large thing in a custom made case with wheels 'n integral handles - to the mail room to weigh it.

There's nothing unusual that, except that the cord between the scale's sensor and its display apparently got broken sometime recently. The temporary replacement cord is a good bit shorter than the original. To deal with this, someone put the scale's sensor thingy up on a platform that's about 2' off the floor.

After having weighed the case, I now know that I can lift 4 foot tall object that weighs 203 pounds 2 feet without help. I wasn't exactly losing sleep over not knowing this information prior to today, but hey, now I know. I also know it's not something I want to do very often at all.
