Eagles are something else! Delightful you spotted one!
Out here on our rock in the North Atlantic we have a species related to the Bald Eagle, the White Tailed Eagle, and whenever one catches a glimpse of them it is awe inspiring! I remember in particular one time when we were visiting the horse herd of some friends, in a part of the country where eagles don't nest, and we saw an entirely unexpected subadult at fairly close range. As we were photographing the horses, I managed to get a suboptimally sharp picture of it with one of our more shapely volcanoes in the background.
