Jul. 27th, 2004 09:41 pmI was clearing some stuff off one of the shelves in my office today and ended up with a few cd's I no longer needed. There was nothing classified on 'em, so I didn't need to put them in the bin for that. Since they contained information that could be considered proprietary or not for public consumption, they needed to be broken up a bit before being tossed. Easy enough to do, until I encountered the Worlds Strongest CDR. Jeez. I bent it fully in half and it didn' t snap. Bent it the other way. Nada. Bent it other ways. All I accomplished was to put some marks on it. Even Programmer Guy tried without success. Finally, I folded it, put a foot on it and bounced hard. The thing shattered and sent a buncha glittery bits of sharp plastic across the carpet. A couple almost made it out into the hall.

And even then, half the disc was still intact.

Still, that was good enough. I just hope the cleaning folks vacuum tonight. It looks like Rip Taylor sneezed on my floor by the desk right now.
