NBC made me furry
Aug. 6th, 2004 02:01 pmI need to sue NBC. I spent hours and hours in front of the tv in my formative years. I thought it hadn't had any real ill effect on me, other than a brain full of really useless tv facts. I mean, I don't go around thinking that if I hold a lit stick of dynamite that I'll be fine when it explodes, aside from my face being all black. Nope, TV'd done me no harm. None at all.
Oh how wrong I was.
During a discussion earlier with a coworker who knows /almost/ as much usless television trivia as I do, Buck Rogers was mentioned. Now I watched ol Buck faithfully every week. Okay, that's a lie. I watched Erin Gray in those tight outfits faithfully every week. Hurhurhur! I became unfaithful the second season, though, when they left earth and got on that stupid spaceship with the old 'British' guy and Hawk.
In order to spare itself, my mind apparently blanked out some of the 2nd season episodes. Specifically the one shown here:
http://www.buck-rogers.com/
Click the 'now playing' link on the right. (Yeah, it's sucky RealPlayer stuff)
Yup. A hirstute sweaty 'satyr' riding some kinda demonic robo-horse.
Since it's the American Way to never take responsibility for mistakes/life choices/obesity/etc, I blame NBC for makin me go around online pretending to be, among other things, an anthromomorphic horse. Hmm. Real Americans go around suing big companies for huge amounts of $ too over stuff like hot coffee.
Hey, maybe I'll be able to retire and live a life of luxury after all. NBC's gotta lot of $, dont' they?
