The Preakness was nifty and fun, though seeing poor Barbaro get injured was rather sad and upsetting. It was neat seeing a lot of people responding to Funny Cide in an earlier race. I guess everyone really does love a winner. One result of Barbaro's not finishing the Preakness was me winning a nice bit of cash on one of the bets I'd placed. A bet I screwed up actually so that it was somewhat bigger than I'd intended. It paid $430, so the day was a net gain.
Looks like I'll be moving to a different office around the corner. I haven't been officially informed yet but when I was heading to the south wing to check the mail yesterday, I ran into the facility manager and he asked if I'd been told about it yet. Dunno when it'll happen. Apparently that's dependent upon whenever the phone/net folks get around to getting some work done. I suspected I'd be moving since people are being shuffled around a bit in order to get members of different groups in near each other and to make room for a group that's moving over here from the south wing.
On the plus side, I can keep the blinds open all day in the office (I think) I'll be moving into. A potential down side is that a couple of the offices over there have a history of the windows leaking sometimes. Nobody seems to be able to remember which ones though. I don't think I'm gonna end up in one of 'em though. On a mixed up/down note, that office also has a view of the airport. That means a neato view of the planes and such. It also means much potential distraction. If a certain spotty cat is able to resume flying, maybe I'll be able to see him take off/land whenever he's comin into Dulles.
Katie has been even more annoyingly talkative of late. I think her tiny kitty mind is shorting out. It's hard to believe that the 3 week old blue eyed kitten I rescued in TX is going to be 17 next month. *sigh*
