Mar. 26th, 2008 10:50 amI talked to the vet's office this morning. Katie's ashes are there now. I'll stop by there after my doctor appointment in Reston this afternoon.
When Sterling died, her ashes came back in a plain little wooden box. I kind of hope Katie's do too. Ster's box sits inside the little crate some clementine oranges came in that she loved to squoosh herself into when she was alive. I've realized Katie didn't have anything like that for me to associate with her. The closest thing would have been the receiving blanket someone had put in the box with her back when the people at work found her abandoned as a kitten. Somewhere along the line, despite my intention to keep it for just this reason, I've lost the blanket.
