Happy food
May. 20th, 2009 09:57 amThe view of Rt 28 outside my window a moment ago got me musing randomly. I just glanced out there when walking back into my office and noticed two delivery trucks in the slow morning traffic. Both were from food supply places. The first just had the company's name and a picture of a cow's head. The graphic wasn' t anything spectacular, just some clipart looking thing, probably an angus.
The second was from Metropolitan Meat, Seafood, and poultry. Their logo is a little more unique:

I know I've seen their trucks before, but it kinda hit me today that the critters on it seem to be just so danged happy that they're gonna be somebody's dinner.
The chicken and cow don't seem to mind the fact that their benevolent lobster buddy is a few thousand times larger than a lobster should be. Perhaps the lobster is only chicken-sized and the cow is very very very tiny for a bovine. Anyway, they all seem to be good buddies. The chicken seems almost enamored of the lobster.
I just find it a little amusing when restaurant and food service logos make critters seem as though being eaten is their wildest dream come true.
