High stakes...
Mar. 30th, 2005 01:00 pmDoh!
I had one of those 'aw crap!' moments just now. I was adding a couple things to shopping list for when I go to Wegman's after work. I was thinking about dinner tonight and what leftovers I have on hand so that I could restock some basics. "Well" I thought, "I can just have the leftover steak from last night and throw together a salad or something." Then I thought "That steak I made last night...I don't remember making it."
I remember taking it out of the freezer Monday and putting it in the fridge so it'd be defrosted for Tuesday.
I remember taking it out of the fridge to let it come up to room temperature before cooking when I got home from work.
I don't remember cooking or eating it.
See, I got distracted with a couple other things like cleaning the bathroom and such. Later I was feeling hungry and had some tuna, completely forgetting that there was a food sitting there waiting to be prepared. Well foo. Write off one steak.
'Course, when I get home it'll have to go out in the trash. It's still in its packaging so hopefully Katie won't get into it while I'm at work today. I hate wasting food.
