Romper Bomper Stomper Boo
There are a lot of con reports for ac showing up in journals. Not that that's a bad thing, but I figure I aint gonna do one. Most of them seem to end up sounding like Miss Sally (or whoever your local 'Miss' was) with the Magic Mirror at the end of Romper Room - I see Kevin and Susie and Sam and Peter...
Yep, I met a number of folks there, most I knew, but some I didn't. Some of 'em even surprised me, like getting hugged about 437 times by a certain big bovine. I even didn't get to see a couple folks I usually talk with a bit.
One of the things that really stood out for me was more an observation than an event, activity, or person. The fandom has changed a bit in the years since I first attended. Mostly for the better. Hygiene seems to have improved. I only experienced one moment that made me regret inhaling. There also seems to be a bit more politeness. Folks actually saying 'excuse me' or apologizing when bumping into you.
Interestingly, I noticed it's still hard to walk through a large group of furry types that are milling about. Anyone who lives or spent a lot of time in big cities generally knows that it's possible to pretty much walk right through a crowd, using the right body language and mindset. It doesn't seem as easy to do with the fandom though. Dunno what the difference is, but it's interesting. Perhaps it's due to having different social behaviors.
Anyhoo, it was a good couple of days.
