With gusto
Feb. 23rd, 2007 08:55 amTo put it mildly, it's been windy here since yesterday. Plenty of strong wind with even stronger gusts. Normally the area right in front of my front door is kind of a trap for windblown stuff, but this is strong enough that nothing has settled there.
derechodragon would love it.
Mostly, the wind has just been slightly annoying. It affects traffic a bit, the creaking of the windows here at work is distracting, but it's not too terrible.
It even has some entertainment value. Every now and then, outside my office window, a seagull will go zooming by at high speed about 15 or 20 feet from the building. When the bird reaches a point almost just before it disappears from view it must be hitting some updraft caused by the building because it'll suddenly change direction and shoot straight up and out of sight.
I don't know if it's the same gull or gulls coming around and around again or if each one I see is different, but it seems to happen every few minutes.
