Plane spotting

murakoziOne aspect of my office here at work that's both good and bad is that I've a decent view of the airport across the street. It's pretty neat to be able to watch the planes take off and land, though it can get distracting at times. It can even get a little scary sometimes when I turn on the aviation band transciever and listen to the communications between the tower and pilots on one of the runways.
One of the really neat things about the view is that I get to see some unusual aircraft now and then. Today, it's an Airbus 380 that's been doing the promotional tour. It's currently parked in one of the areas near the new control tower that's being built where they tend to park some of the nonstandard aircraft. If I'd known it was gonna be there, I'd have brought a camera to get a pic or two.
There's a 747 parked behind it, which gives a little perspective as to how tall the Airbus is. It's a pity that one of the Anatov A124's that's out there occasionally isn't there today. I'd like to see how one of those compares to the A380.
