I got the first Christmas card of the season in the mail. Unfortunately, it wasn't for me. It wasn't even for one of the people who lived in the apartment before me. As I was putting it back out into the mail marked 'Not at this address' I noticed it made a sound as if there were sand in the envelope.
There's fog or low clouds outside that's just about at the level of the top of the control tower across the street. It's really kind of neat seeing the larger jets take off and pretty much vanish into the mist before they reach the end of the runway.
I seem to have actually managed to extricate a part of the contract at work from what was very much a Catch-22 the government had in place.
On a related note, it's almost like watching an episode of M*A*S*H when dealing with some of the requirements on this contract, with the redundancy and forms needed to get the forms to file other forms and such.
I picked up the new distance glasses yesterday after work. When I was there the receptionist noted that I'd gotten the exact same frames I chose last year for the bifocals I use at home. I guess I'm nothing if not predictable in my tastes. I kinda hoped that maybe the lenses would be significantly different enough that I'd be able to tell the two pairs apart easily, but they're really not. I suspect I'll go around wearing the 'wrong' glasses for whatever I'm doing at the moment for a while.
At the barn, Wheatchex's shoulder injury is healing up well. She's been such a tolerant horse through all the poking and prodding and shots and digging around in there by the vet that Sandy posted a picture of her on the wall as the "Employee of the Month."
Sometime, months ago, I wrote the following on the whiteboard in my office:
Obviously, it's supposed to mean something, but I sure can't remember what it is. Nobody else can figure it out either. I've never erased it because, dangit, it must've been importantI
