murakoziThere's an area near the new control tower at the airport where there's usually a few planes parked for short periods of time. Often they belong to 'unusual' airlines such as Kuwait Air or Saudi Airlines. Sometimes there's a big 747 with nothing but some odd logo on the tail. United seems to like to keep a big jet or two over there as well. Yesterday morning I noticed about 8 or 10 small private-looking jets parked on the near side of that area. I assumed they probably belonged to people/dignitaries/whatever who were in town for the inauguration.
Around the time I first noticed them, a few flakes of snow started to fall outside. The snow started coming a bit harder and at one point was falling in huge wet clumpy flakes. It was heavy enough to obscure the view of the airport from my office. When the snow was at its heaviest, a flock of geese flew in and settled in for a bit down by the parking lot. The weather cleared up after a little while and when I looked over that way again, I saw that beyond the planes I'd seen earlier, in an area that'd been clear that morning, there were parked literally dozens of small aircraft.
It was as if a flock of planes had come in along with that flock of geese.
