stress and flashbacks

Looks like the friend who works for the moving company isn't gonna come over today. Stood up again. I'd really looked forward to help in getting most of the stuff in the apartment packed up today.
I think the difficulty I have in doing it alone is the desire to not let go of posessions. I've accumulated a lot of 'stuff' over the years. I'm not a hoarder or anything, but I've still got way too much stuff. Maybe it's from the early years on my own where I barely was able to pay rent and buy food. Ahh, the days of lettuce sandwiches and old worn out clothes. Another reason the move is so stressy could be my army brat upbringing. Up until this place, I'd never lived in one place for more than 4 years. Usually it was 2 years at the most. Packing and moving meant a new town, new school, and trying to find new friends and saying goodbye to old ones.
One effect of going through all the old junk in the closets is occasionally coming across something from my past that's nifty, or that I'd thought I'd lost, or that just makes me remember stuff. Just now, going through the living room closet, behind the winter coats and stuff, I found an old Members Only jacket. How 80's. Hee
