That's an obscure subject that few are likely to get**. Perhaps 'Where's the Mare?' would've been better.

Sunday wasn't a particularly cold day, nor was it windy, but for some reason I was feeling pretty cold all day long. The weather forecast called for 1-3 inches of snow in the afternoon/evening turning to sleet or freezing rain overnight. The decision was made to keep the horses in the barn rather than turn them out as usual. That meant a lot more stalls to clean and more hay and grain to pass out. It also meant some grumpy horses. They know nothing of forecasts, they only know they're supposed to be out in the pasture after the trail rides are over on Sundays. Poor critters. They have to stay in, sometimes, and it's a lot easaier to keep 'em in than it is to try to catch them in a wet snowstorm at midnight as we did one year.
