Around this time every year, I start getting the Bronner's catalog in the mail. I think I actually ordered something from them long long ago, like some LED xmas lights way back when they were hard to find. I usually look through the catalogs when they arrive. I'm not really after any Christmas ornaments or lights or decorations (I haven't even put up a tree for the past couple years - I R lazy), but I figure there might always be something cool or nifty that I just have to have.

This year, aside from the usualy assortment of traditional and the inexplicable ornaments (cell phone and menorah Christmas ornaments?), there were some moose ones that caught my attention. Now I like moose. I kinda see them as the cervine family's version of horses.

Looking at the various moosey ornaments, I've concluded that either the folks at Bronners and/or the ornament manufacturers don't realize that only male moose have antlers, or they're promoting alternative moosey lifestyles.

For example:

Aww, a moose couple: http://www.bronners.com/1119124.html

Both got antlers, meaning they're both bull moose. Gotta like that coquettish look from the one wearing the wreath.

Crossdressing moose: http://www.bronners.com/1122872.html

This one's not like all the other bulls. He can't help it if he always dreamt of being a ballerina: http://www.bronners.com/1129457.html

Johnny (and his brothers) aren't like the other kids. They have 2 dads: http://www.bronners.com/1090656.html

Um. Just what are they 'stroking'? http://www.bronners.com/1121238.html

Just for the record, yes, there's one of those I am actually tempted to order. That would mean putting up a tree this year though and digging out all the other ornaments and lights.
