I've noticed for a while that I seem to be the one to attempt to start conversations with people online. With 2 or 3 exceptions, if I don't say 'hello' nobody does.
This same sort of thing happens offline as well. I'm expected to call others instead of them calling me. At any sort of activity, if I'm supposed to go to wherever others are, even when I'm there first.
So, I kinda figure it's a bit of a hint. From now on, it's unlikely I'll say 'hello' to people upon logging in places. I won't call or email to see how they're doing. If I'm worth talking to, they'll say something to me. Otherwise, it's pretty much an indication they don't want to hear from me.
