Something stinks

So, I'd parked in the garage under the building this morning, and was waiting for the elevator in the lower lobby of the building. There's a revolving door and a couple regular doors there that face onto a parking lot out by 28. While I waited, a dark shape moved across in front of the doors. Even before it was fully into the lights outside, I recognized the kind of hunchy-joggy movement that says 'skunk in a little bit of a hurry.' It was one big skunk, too. Larger than the ones I can recall seeing in the wild, before. It scooted along right against the doors, then paused and looked back, then trotted off into the bushes on the other side, and out of sight. A moment later, a woman came walking slowly up, staring after it. I guess the skunk had been in the bushes or on the walk to one side of the door and she'd startled it. She stood there staring after it for a while before rooting around for her passkey to get into the building. The elevator arrived about then, and I got on.
It's kind of neat to see wildlife now and then, other than deer or the too-frequent dead raccoon on the side of the road.
