Disturbing events, at least for me.

I should become a hermit and go live atop some mountain for a while. Seriously, I seem to be a jinx of some sort for other folk. This has been part of what's been making me so stressed of late. It's as if I'm a magnet for disaster for folks around me.
About a month ago, one of the men who works here had his daughter in the office. They were meeting up to go to lunch or something and I had to talk to him in his office. Chatted with her a bit while I was there and thought she was a pretty nifty and interesting person. A week later, she was dead. Some issues from her diabetes had suddenly gotten serious and she just didn't survive.
Now that same coworker had a tumor the size of a softball taken out of his abdomen earlier this year. He'd been having stomach/digestive problems and it was discovered. He'd been improving quite a bit, and was looking pretty good. I'd actually commented on how much better he seemed to be doing when in talking with him and his daughter. Couple weeks after his daughter died, so did he. Oh, and his wife had a pacemaker put in about 2 months ago. She's not doing well right now, understandably.
Another coworker has a son who gets sick a LOT. Just after the male coworker died, her son got a cold or something. When she told me about it, I responded, saying that I hoped he was doing well soon and that at least it wasn't like when the kid was seriously sick last year. Fast forward a couple days, and the kid is in the hospital. Seems his immune system is really hosed up.
And then there's my grandfather, who is still in ICU down in Houston. It's pretty iffy still, whether he'll survive. If he doesn't, it's likely my grandmother'll go shortly afterwards.
Programmer Guy went to a concert in DC last night. He was in a little early this morning, and went right past my office to his without saying anything. That's a little unusual. He usually says howdy as he goes by. Usually, the only times he's in early is when he's dropped his car off for servicing. For whatever reason I thought to myself "I hope he didn't have to drive his wife's car in because something happened to his downtown last night.' Bad move, thinkin that. He was on his way to meet his wife for dinner when he got T-boned downtown. At least, on a positive note, he has an Acura (TL, I think) that's built like a tank, and he wasn't hurt, aside from having the door whonk against his leg.
And the mare, Bandy, at the barn is still hurting a lot. She's not really in good enough condition to handle the 2 hour trailer ride to the equine hospital in Leesburg, for better xray and exam of her shoulder. While talking to Sandy at the barn on Sunday, she mentioned that just the week before Bandy got injured, we'd been talking about her and I'd said how she was one horse it'd be really hard to do without right now. Sheesh. I'd forgotten about that.
Yes, it's really just a bunch of coincidences, but still, it's still a bit freaky. Seems like a lot of folks around me keep getting hurt 'n stuff.
I guess I should look into a career as a prophet of doom or something.
So please don't be upset if I don't say 'I hope you get well soon' or other such stuff to anyone for a while. It's really for your own protection.
