They're heeeerrrrre! Brood X has been buzzing and whirring eerily in the area for over a week now. I haven't actually heard or seen any around my apartment, but they've emerged. Down at the DMV earlier this week I could hear them in the nearby trees, and up at the barn, they're all over in the woods.
Oh sure, the tv news and papers are full of light-hearted articles about these huge black bugs that fly worse than Woodstock after doing a couple jello shots. They'd have us believe they're just big bumbling insects out lookin for love for a couple weeks before they die. Uh huh. Sure. Thanks to this site, I've learned the real truth about them:
