murakoziIt's a week of things-that-are-about-to-happen, it seems. Well, okay, only 2 things, but things that have been in the works for a long time here at the office. First is the RFP for a contract that we kind of expected weeks ago. Supposedly it may have actually come in yesterday when I was off work. I don't have any email regarding it so I suspect it didn't arrive. It'll supposedly be here sometime this week though.
The other thing should happen this week too. Remember wayyyy back when my workstation in the office went belly up and my instant dislike for the laptop which was plonked on my desk as a temporary replacement?
Well, the actual official replacement workstation arrived nearly a month ago and IT finally did whatever human and animal sacrifices were necessary and it's supposed to be delivered to me this week. Yay! That only took 8 and a half months. Now, perhaps I can finally finish the move to my new office.
Looks like the problems my mother has been having are due to the battery in her implant failing. My little sister is in town for a job interview tomorrow and will take Mom to Bethesda for a pre-replacment exam. Sis is gonna try to get them to actually replace the thing today, but the odds are pretty slim that they will. That means I'll have to head up to Baltimore to get Mom and bring her down to get it replaced either tomorrow or Friday. Ugh. That'll be some long trips in the car: Herndon to Towson to Bethesda to Towson to Herndon.
I still need to give Katie some fancy cat food as a belated birthday thing. The lil twerp turned 17 on Friday when I was up in Pittsburgh. I'm sure she has no clue about birthdays and such, but I figure she won't object to some Fancy Feast in her bowl.
